The next part of the plan

We leave out next week Thursday to STL. T, Henry, Ruby and I. Friday morning I have a follow up to the radiation to check my skin etc.

So far though sore and irritated- it hasn't got icky or blistery do let's hope it stays good.

Friday after my appointment -- City Museum!!!

Then home on Saturday.

The following week Ruby and T depart to NYC (and Jon) for a concert in central park. I expect I'll be drinking and partying for those four days...

October 2 -- my birthday --

October 18-- first chemo treatment. Yep, I'm doing it.

This is how I've explained my decision: I don't want to have cancer again bottom line. Anything again will be harder and/ or it should buy me time to where treatment is better / easier. As Zach said "it's a little time compared to the rest of your life".

Am I fully confident in western medicine's answer to cancer -- no I am not. Am I confident in my decision to go with my doctor's recommendation? Yes I am. Am I confident that a large part of this has to do with my will to live a long healthy life and putting as much good energy out while I'm doing it ? ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY!

So I go forth knowing it may not be easy but that I will get through it and there's something better on the other side of all of this.

  1. well, chemo is a lot less harsh than it used to be -- but still no picnic. Make sure they give you anti-nausea drugs, and (sigh) smoke a little pot -- good for the nausea -- and with some cancers actually inhibits their growth...

ANON so that the police don't come busting in...
